Village Guide · 2.85 km away
Founded around the year 1200, Montechiaro d'Asti is one of the larger and more distinctive villages in this cluster. Its centrepiece is the Church of Saints Nazarius and Celsus, an 11th–12th century Romanesque building considered one of the finest examples of medieval architecture in the Lower Monferrato. The town is also known locally for hosting the Fiera Nazionale del Tartufo Bianco del Monferrato each autumn, and is the base of the ACS Cycling Chirio–Casa Giani professional cycling team.
